This Unschooling Conference Cruise is like nothing you have ever seen or experienced.
I chose the Freedom of the Seas ship after much research about what would be the best ship to take a bunch of Unschoolers. I wanted a ship nice enough that everyone would feel pampered and wouldn't have to clean or think about food. I wanted a place where we could be barefoot and dressed however we want. I wanted a classy, but not stuffy ship and environment.
I researched other cruise lines, but none compared with the quality to detail that Royal Caribbean provides. It was very important to me that the crew be respectful of children and not mind if a group of kids wandered into the Cafe together to grab a bite to eat without adults.
After out last Unschooling cruise we learned a lot! We learned that we wanted more space on the ship for younger kids as well as older kids. I want a place where families can play and have fun together... So I found the "Freedom of the Seas" ship. I love her name with the love I know we have for Freedom living an Unschooling life. This ship is Perfect for what our unique needs are as a group.
This ship is one of the newest ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet. This leading-edge line of Cruise ships happens to be the same Royal Caribbean line of ships that Nickelodeon Cruises uses. Can you say Perfect for a group of wild, joy-lovin' families?!I had to post a picture of the H2O Zone on the top of the ship! Perfect for families to play on the 3 days at sea... Between eating, the arcade, ice skating, roller blading, swimming, mini-golf, shopping, eating, and exploring the ship, the H20) zone is awesome. They also have a Wave Runner surfing simulator on board to try out.
There are activities for everyone... Ice Skating shows and comedy acts, variety shows and game shows.. All of which our Unschooling group can either enjoy together or separately. Everyone traveling with our group has a tables in the main dining room together. Some families come for a nice sit down dinner, and others want to head over to the Windjammer and enjoy the huge buffet that includes everything from Indian foods, Sushi, pizza, roast chicken and desserts as far as the eye can see. It is a very Freestyling experience.
Despite the amount of people on the ship itself, it rarely feels crowded and there aren't many lines. cruising is a relaxing, peaceful experience. being that close to nature, in the middle of the ocean with the wind in your hair. It's truly exhilarating.

Late night parties in the jaccuzis were so much fun too. It is important to me that there is always a jacuzzi available that children can go in also. My kids love jacuzzis as much as pools.
